HGPII Congratulates Three Member Companies for International Recognition of Leading Ethical Business Practices and Cultures

WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 24, 2017 – Three of the founding members of the Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII) are being recognized among the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” for their commitment to highly ethical business practices and cultures, and shaping industry standards.

Premier Inc, Vizient Inc, and HealthTrust (HCA) were all named a 2017 World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute, which has been recognizing the leading practices of organizations across industries and around the globe for more than a decade.

“The first core principle of HGPII requires high ethical values at each member company. We are pleased and proud that three HGPII member companies are being recognized by a global and annual assessment that values leaders in ethical practices,” said Phil English, HGPII National Coordinator. “HGPII was created to establish a process for the industry to monitor and continually improve its ethical and business practices through significant transparency and to sustain a high level of trust with the public.”

Premier, a healthcare improvement company, was recognized for continuing to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior. Premier is the only company in the health information services industry recognized this year.

Vizient, a member-driven healthcare performance improvement company, earned its second recognition in 2017, and it is one of only two companies in the Business Services category.

HealthTrust, via its parent company HCA, a provider of healthcare services, was one of seven healthcare companies to receive the award in 2017.
